Marlin Bonds is a 7x platinum, 2x Grammy-nominated, BMI award-winning songwriter and producer from St. Louis, MO. Alongside his major label accomplishments, he broke a sales record in K-Pop and built an extensive career in music licensing and sync, with his work featured by FOX, ABC, ESPN, Gatorade, Netflix, Southwest Airlines, eBay, and on hit TV shows like Grey’s Anatomy, South Park, and Love Is Blind Season 8 to name a few.
The Journey to Hypno Loops
Marlin’s path to creating Hypno Loops was deeply personal. After experiencing profound loss—first his father to COVID-19 and then his newborn son—he turned to affirmations, meditation, and sound therapy as a way to heal. However, existing meditation apps lacked something crucial: personalization.
Realizing the power of hearing affirmations, Marlin went to the studio and experimented with rhythmically looping recorded messages in rapid succession. The unique rhythm and repetition helped interrupt negative thought patterns, breaking a cycle of intrusive thoughts and reinforcing new, positive ones. This personal breakthrough became the foundation of Hypno Loops, and how its patent-pending rhythmic looping technology and high-definition soundscapes can help reshape cognitive behavior (e.g., thought patterns).
From Personal Healing to Scientific Discovery
What started as a personal healing tool has evolved into a science-backed wellness platform, drawing from extensive research on repetition’s effects on the brain and cognitive function. This approach helps reinforce positive thought patterns and deepen the mind’s connection to self-directed messages.
A Vision for the Future
As a solo founder, Marlin has led every aspect of Hypno Loops’ growth—from product development to securing strategic partnerships, funding, and advancing research initiatives. He is currently working with researchers at Washington University for clinical testing on stress reduction and has built an advisory board comprising leaders in neurology, analytics, healthcare technology solutions with a focus on B2B strategy, and marketing.
